THANKS U , After making her Bollywood debut with the tragic love story ‘Dhadak’, Janhvi Kapoor is all set to foray/enter into the genre of the biopic with her second film. Yes, the newbie will be playing the titular role in Sharan Sharma’s directorial ‘Gunjan Saxena-The Kargil Girl’. The film is based on the life of India’s first woman combat pilot Gunjan Saxena.
ReplyDeleteA couple of days back filmmaker and Janhvi’s mentor, Karan Johar unveiled the biopic’s first look. In these posters, we see Janhvi as a girl-next-door transforming into a combat pilot. She Looks pitch perfect and pretty much similar to real life Gunjan Saxena.
Sharing the first poster, Karan wrote, “She was told ladkiyan pilot nahin banti, but she stood her ground & wanted to fly! Gunjan Saxena – #TheKargilGirl”
Karan Johar went on to share another poster by captioning it as, “With unabashed courage and bravery, she made her domain in a man’s world.”
Now meet Pankaj Tripathi, who will be playing Janhvi’s father in this film. Sharing his poster, Johar wrote, “Her pillar of strength-her father. He gave her wings to fly!”
The film will tell the journey of India’s first Air Force Woman Officer who went to war. And which will celebrate the achievements of this brave pilot who was honoured with the Shaurya Chakra for her valour and self-sacrifice, Also Angad Bedi, Viineet Kumar, and Manav Vij, ‘Gunjan Saxena’ is all set to hit the silver screens on March 13, 2020.
The film is produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios.
