1.  MERA JOOTA HAI JAPANI FROM SHREE 420 : Mera joota hai japani is one of the most famous songs from Raj Kapoor-Nargis starrer SHREE-420, which gained immense liking not only by Indians but also by the Hollywood movie makers. The song has been featured in two Hollywood films GRAVITY (2013) and most recent in DEADPOOL (2016). To have the same song featuring in two record breaking box-office juggernauts shows the immense popularity for the song from 1950’s.


2. AWARA HU FROM AWAARA : This song is from Raj Kapoor starrer movie Awaara which was released in 1951. Another very internationally popular song and majorly liked by the people of Russia, China, in the Soviet Union and in the Middle-East. In China both film and song were very famous, in a BBC poll 2013 this song has been rated as second greatest Bollywood song of all time.


3. JAAN PECHCHAN HO FROM GUMNAAM : The song ‘JAAN PECHCHAN HO’ with lifting music gathered tremendous popularity as it was known as Indian Rock and roll song from the film ‘GUMNAAM’. This song was majorly remediated in North-America. The song was so famous that it was used in the opening credits in the Film ‘GHOST WORLD’ in 2001 and was also used in Heineken’s 2011 "The Date" commercial.


4. CHAIYYA CHAIYYA FROM DIL SE : “Chaiyya Chaiyya” is a very popular song from Shahrukh Khan- Manisha Koiralla starrer movie “Dil Se”. The song was featured in Hollywood movie “Foster” starring Denzel Washington-Clive and Owen-Jodie. In 2002, when BBC polls were conducted across the globe to choose 10 most popular songs, this song ranked 9th in the list. People across 155 countries had voted for this poll and the song stood out among the 7000 other songs.



5. I AM A DISCO DANCER FROM DISCO DANCER : This song is from the film “DISCO”, the soundtrack became famous worldwide and it drew in 40-63 million viewers for the film and the actor Mithun Charkraboty became a household name in southern Asia and The Soviet Union and it also received an award in China.



6. ROJA JANEMAN FROM ROJA :  Roja was included in Time Magazine’s 10 Greatest Album of 20th Century. Music lovers from all region and language watched and listened this songs fell in love with AR Rahman’s first ever composition.

TUJHE DEKHA TO YE FROM DDLJ : song from the most romantic film in a generation ‘TDTYJS’ nods to Bollywood’s wholesome days of yore with playback singers Kumar Sanu and Lata Mangeshkar as star-crossed lovers Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) and Simran (Kajol) are reunited in Punjab’s glorious fields.They declare they’ll die in each other’s arms amid costume changes, location switches (to the Alps), and dream-sequence montages. The combo of glorious melodies, soaring strings and the innocent purity of Lata’s voice has been a Bollywood staple for decades. 8. WHY THIS KOLAVERI DI : his song became famous for its quirky TANGLISH accent and this soundtrack gained immense popularity and in November 2011. YouTube honoured the video with a most popular gold medal award and  “trending” silver medal award for receiving large number of hits in short time. It had crossed 75 million views within just 18 days of release across globe. Turkish pop singer also used this song in her albums.

10. CHAAR BOTTLE VODKA' BY YO YO HONEY SINGH : How’s Bollywood changing? Check this track and you’ll get an idea – controversial Punjabi rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh extols the virtue of drinking four bottles of vodka (chorus: ‘I want a hangover tonight’) in a trap-rap club track featuring Sunny Leone. Parents hate him – for the slackness of his lyrics and encouraging their sons to dress like rude boys – while the kids love him, as proven by this track’s 32 million YouTube views.
